As in all France the real estate market in Cannes has had a great 2017 year. The rise to power of Emmanuel Macron is no stranger to this dynamism. “There is a positive feeling towards France, particularly after the presidential elections” , as Johan Wretman explains – the Wretman estate founder and President, which has had a turnover of nearly 60% more than last year. “Cannes real estate market is particularly dynamic right now”, said Adrien Grosjean, Director of the real estate agency Le Lys. “All lights are green! The number of transactions is clearly on the rise compared to 2016, and prices remain stable.
Among the most sought after properties on the Croisette are 3 bedroom-apartments. Régis Masselot, head of the Estate Service Californie et Palm Beach Agency, whose clients are mostly Scandinavians, and especially the Swedes, explains that “People are looking for a second home (60% of demand), and seek mainly among two-and three-room apartments between 250.000 and 700.000 Euro”.
Also there is always a demand on small properties. “ These are often foreigners looking for a small apartment in the Carré d’Or who wish to come and spend a couple of weeks in the year on the Côte d’Azur and rent their apartment during the events. Properties that you can negotiate around 200.000 euros in beautiful residence without luxury”, says Brigitte Rossi-the Director of the real estate agency Cannes Rossi Croisette. Cannes attracts a large number of foreign investors, looking for a house on the sea, and pensioners as well, who wish to enjoy the mild weather and the sun.
